This page is created as a follow up to the October 2024 Chant Workshop offered to the Lady Poverty Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) at San Pedro. We learned the following chants to be used in the Liturgy of the Hours when your fraternity gathers: Benedictus for Morning Prayer; Magnificat for Evening Prayer; and Saint Francis' Canticle of the Sun which can be sung at a variety of occasions and may even replace the canticle from the Hebrew Scriptures at Morning Prayer.
The audio files here are intended to help you learn the chants fluently so you may sing and pray with ease when you gather for common prayer. You may even want to use them in your daily prayer until they are memorized so that the singing may be effortless when you gather as a fraternity.
